About us

Hello everyone!

I’m Hai (pronounced “Hi”), a Vietnamese-Australian plant collector, cultivator, and hybridizer based in both Vietnam and Australia.

Like many plant enthusiasts, I began collecting aroids at the onset of COVID-19. My collection started in Australia and expanded to include hybrids from the USA, Indonesia, and Thailand. I have a strong passion for gathering unique plants and creating new Anthurium hybrids.

In late 2023, my collection outgrew my available space in Australia, prompting me to make the exciting decision to expand in Vietnam, where Anthurium collecting and hybridizing was still a burgeoning field.

My collection now features plants sourced from well-known Australian nurseries, including Equatorial Exotics, Mission Beach Nursery, and Cape Oasis Nursery, as well as renowned collectors like Miguel Pascual, Greg Oldano, Betty Dovey, Wynn Robinson, the Hilders, Peter Anderson, Kurt Butterfield, Rob Jeffries, and Plantska.

Some highlights of my Australian collection include, but are not limited to, Bloodmoon, Midnight Velvet, Black Hole, Heinz Crystal, Cape Oasis Crystals, Aus Dark Phoenix, Betty’s Butterfly, Hilders Crystals, Black Cherry, Black Sensation, and species sustainably wild-collected by botanists and collectors in South America. It also includes hybrids created by veteran Australian breeders from the 1960s to 1990s.

My ultimate goal is to hybridize these stunning Australian varieties with carefully bred plants from around the globe.

I have successfully gathered specimens from renowned U.S. nurseries, including Silver Krome Gardens, Fairchild Tropical Gardens, NSE Tropicals, Ree Garden, Tezula, and esteemed collectors like Jay Vanini, William Rotolante, Rory Antolak, Paul Marcelini, Scott Cohen, Enid Offolter, and Dr. Block.

A significant portion of my collection also comes from Indonesia, thanks to Pak Haji Uli, Pak Chandra Hendarto, Pak Noldy Topan, Pak Eddy Pranoto, and nurseries such as Siapnam, Mr. Breed, and Kartel Daun.

Additionally, I’ve acquired species offered by Ecuagenera and other tropical plants sourced from South America.

Lastly, I have a variety of beautiful Anthuriums propagated from Thai nurseries like Siam Flora, Kidda Nursery, Thai Exotics, and Magic Garden.

In 2024, the Vietnamese Anthurium scene is rapidly expanding, offering great potential for collectors worldwide. We’re excited to soon introduce our own new hybrids to this incredible hobby. Our collaborations in Vietnam include nurseries like Le Toro Jardin, MinJin Plants, Quy Duong Garden, Xanh Xanh Urban Forest and Jaya Secret Garden.
